Description: This beautifully detailed 4 1/5" Diameter pewter plate was acquired from an estate sale. It was kept in its original box and not used as a display. Because of this, it is in excellent condition. The plate features a Cardinal on a pine tree branch surrounded by 3 pine cones. The back of the plate is engraved "Ohio Republican Party 2007 Early Bird" and "Handmade Wendell August, Grove City, PA, Berlin, OH". This Wendell August Forge was established in 1923. In the early years, the forge focused on ornate architectural pieces and giftware for banks, churches, and private homes. This forge is still in business today and is still known for its elegance, superior quality, and precision forge work.
