Description: I assume you landed here because you already know the work of Wendy Schultz Wubbels. I suspect my late sister Betsy got to know her when she (Betsy) had a crafts and collectibles shop in Pittsburgh, PA featuring artists from West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Wendy Wubbels was a native of Lancaster, PA, though she has been based in Virginia for many years now. She (Wubbels) has been cutting silhouette paper (SILHOUETTE SCHERENSCHNITTE--silhouette scissor cutting) using only surgical scissors for more than 50 years. This WITH HEART IN HAND piece reflects her earlier traditional Pennsylvania German motifs: tulips, hearts, birds, were her initial subject matter (though I point out the musical motif and the interweaving green bracelet as her special touches here). She became well known through the Shaker Museums, The Museum of American Folk Art and The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Recently, Ms. Wubbles has taken her work in a new direction, which you can see on her Facebook page, presenting 20th century themes of fashion and furniture, considerably more complex, large and colorful. Please note that the 4x6" measurement refers to the entire framed piece, since I think she consciously chose the overall vision. Thanks for looking!Rick
