Westside Models O Scale Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4 Steam Locomotive by KTM

Description: This vintage and very hard to find Westside Models O Scale Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4 Steam Locomotive by KTM is boxed, professionally painted, and in Like-New condition. As seen in the pictures provided this is an early issue of the Union Pacific Big Boy having been stamped into the under frame "033" along with having no extra cab interior detail as the later issue/run of the Big Boyt by KTM. The KTM Big Boy has been professionally painted and is simply awesome. The satin black & silver paint look beautiful and the white UP lettering/graphics crisp & clean. Also included with the locomotive is the original KTM box with internal cardboard partitions. The box itself is in overall very good condition, but (2) of the box corners have tears at the corner crease lines most likely caused by the top cover lid fitting just too tightly over the bottom half of the box. I did repair/reinforce the corners by gluing internal cardboard bracing, but the top cover is still just too tight. This vintage locomotive was purchased by the original owner over (40) years ago. It was never operated and was only used as a static display locomotive in a glass enclosed display cabinet. I am not a 2-rail operator and to a large degree unfamiliar with 2-rail operation. I did bench test this locomotive and at first the locomotive would operate sluggishly in both directions, but after a few directional changes the locomotive began to show very good operation, however, I could see that the locomotive will need to be thoroughly lubricated before any type of prolonged operation....Let me repeat before any type of operation this locomotive will have to be thoroughly lubricated due to the fact it has never been operated for over (40) years except for my simple bench-testing. From what I understand this is a very collectible and somewhat very hard-to-find locomotive especially when professionally painted. This is a very heavy and long locomotive and will require a very large shipping box. The locomotive and tender will be packaged inside the original lower half of the box and the top cover red box will be most likely shipped packaged separately and shipped by itself. Furthermore, since being a brass and very valuable O scale locomotive, great care will be taken in packaging it. The stated shipping cost is high simply due to the size of the shipping box along with the cost of insurance. However, if the stated shipping cost is greater than the actual shipping cost at the time of mailing, I will refund to the buyer the difference through EBAY.
