Description: Vintage Whitman jefferson nickel folder from 1962 to 1987 and including 20th century liberty head nickels from 1900 to 1912! What?? you may ask is this! Or why did Whitman create a folder like this which abruptly stops with 1987 and then dives back into the Liberty Head Nickel series from 1900 to 1912. Well whatever the reason here it is. I can imagine someone buying one of these folders in 1986 or 1987 and then getting home to find that the folder does not go on to the later years in the 1980ies and then up to 1995 but rather has these strange printed openings for the 20th century Liberty Head Nickels! Still a great collectible folder in its own right now after more than 35 years! UPDATE! After some more researching as to why this strange folder exists, it is the beginning 9th edition folders which has a redesign of the cover and a copyright date of 1980. The 9th ed. ran from 1978 to 1999 and 2000 saw the beginning of the 10th edition folders. Whitman was apparently experimenting with new designs and this folder fits right into the changing concept of the 9th edition! Thanks for looking buffnixx stock no. 80221f
