Description: Pictured is an early cobalt blue transfer ware monk/friar mug offered for sale. The tapered mug has sharp, crisp detail of a monk tuning his violin. There are gold gilding highlights on the brim, handle & base. It measures 4 1/2" in height and dates from 1892 - 1911 & is in excellent condition. Amazingly, it has no nicks or scratches to the body! It is stamped in blue on the underside "WARRANTED - W.B.P.CO." (William Brunt Pottery - East Liverpool, Ohio) by the maker.
