You're looking at a SUPERB condition book which is VERY RARE, hard to find and OUT OF PRINT and a classic examination of the life and art of master potter WILLIAM DE MORGAN--the book is a STATED FIRST U.S. EDITION and a HARDCOVER with the ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET and is NOT price-clipped, with the original $25.50 price in the upper corner of the front inner flap. This book is in SUPERB condition and the book itself has a small ding on the lower right edge of the back cover, a small publisher's stamp on the lower page edge near the spine end and a slight scuff on the upper right edge of the green-tinted first page but NO other significant imperfections; the dustjacket has a tiny tear on the lower right edge of the back surface, two tiny stickers on the lower corners of the back cover a slight sticker spot on the upper right corner of the front cover, a small abrasion on the upper edge of the front inner flap and just very light shelfwear otherwise but no other significant flaws! The book is titled William De Morgan Tiles and it was written by JON CATLEUGH; it was published by Van Norstrand Reinhold Company in 1983 and is a STATED 1st U.S. EDITION copy.William Frend De Morgan (1839-1917) was one of the most important potters of the late nineteenth century, an innovator both in design and technique. His great specialty was designing tiles, decorated with vivid patterns of leaves and flowers, birds and monsters, ships, and animals.
