Description: Presented is a wonderful pair of antique American sterling silver serving or ice tongs. These tongs were made by Watson in the Putnam pattern, which began production in 1920. The tongs are made in an elegant openwork design, with one pierced spoon-style grabbing end and the other done in the form of a leaf, likewise decorated with openwork designs. The back has a monogram of GBP in flowing script. This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The tongs are stamped with the maker's mark for Watson as well as sterling. These tongs measure about 6 1/2 inches long. The tongs weigh 71 grams, or 2.5 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
