Lajos, Czech: Ludvík Jagellonský, Croatian: Ludovik II., Slovak: Ľudovít II; born July 1, 1506 in Buda, died August 29, 1526 near Mohacz) - king of Bohemia (as Louis I), Hungary and Croatia, reigning independently in the years 1516–1526. Son of the King of Bohemia and Hungary, Władysław II Jagiellon and Anna de Foix. In 1515 he was adopted by Emperor Maximilian I of Habsburg, and in 1522 he married his granddaughter Maria Habsburg, fulfilling the provisions of the Congress of Vienna. He was a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
