Description: Poster: The Rhapsody Project, & Oregon Cultural Heritage Commission Present "Roll Columbia" Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Wood Guthrie's Pacific Northwest Songs. Date: Oct 22, 2016 Venue: Old Church, Portland, OR Size: 18" x 26" Condition: Flawless, like new. In 1941, Woody Guthrie spent a month writing songs about the Columbia River region. He came up with 26 songs in 30 days. It was one of the most creative periods in his life. In the summer of 2016, publisher Bill Murlin and musician Joe Seamons, along with product Jon Neufeld, created a kickstarter project to create an album of the tunes. They are working with a dozen musicians to record the album. Names like David and Tracy Grisman and R.E.M.'s Peter Buck were joined by George Rezendes, Scott McCaughey, Michael Hurley, John Moen from the Decemberists, Pharis & Jason Romero, John Neufeld * Martha Scanlon and Annalisa Tornfelt, Kate Power, Steve Einhorn, Timberbound and many others in the effort. You'll have to check kickstarter to see how to get the recording, but you can get the poster here! Gary Houston's work is some of the most beautiful and affordable music art on the market today.
