It was purchased by the British Government and assigned as a GSTP watch in the lead-up to WW2 before Germany cut off the Swiss watchmaking industry from the UK. The watch is running well within roughly 1 minute a week. perfect for a collector. It was last serviced October 2024. And comes with a felt-lined protective case that I have designed for this watch. Movement: The movement is an Omega 38.5LT1 and has been recently cleaned & oiled. Featuring 15 jewels, a lever escapement, and a serial number of: 9912473 placing it in the late 30's production era. Case: The movement is in a nickel open-face case with a snap-on bezel and caseback. The case is in good structural condition. with visible scratches. Caseback: The outside of the caseback has been marked GSTP Y01447 with a broad arrow. The inside shows 4 watch service engravings, 61574959, 835067, 8846676, Bill Mac Cosh, (Pictures provided) Dial: The enamel dial is in near perfect condition, the hands and dial have been relumed in a yellowed non-radium-based lume and glow green. the dial is also marked "Omega, Swiss Made"
