Description: An incredible vintage Brazilian 18k gold amethyst cocktail ring, marks for H. Stern, Rio de Janeiro, dating to circa the 1960s. This incredible vintage Brazilian designer solid 18k gold cocktail ring by Hans Stern displays the best of the colorful 60s with the most incredible showstopping 28.3 carat oval faceted amethyst which has an amazingly intense Siberian-amethyst-purple color, the deep saturated lilac purple glows like magic from right across the room, the gemstone is prong-set in a high and impressive solid gold open gallery setting with split shoulders and a wide band creating a fantastic glowing, gleaming purple delight for the finger! The ring is marked with H. Stern's early 'RJ139' mark (the RJ stands for Rio de Janeiro) and '750' for 18k gold. The ring tests for 18k gold. The ring sits just under a size 7. The amethyst measures approximately 22.5mm x 18.1mm x 13.1mm or about 28.3 carats. The ring rises about 15mm above the finger and weighs approximately 14.4 grams.
