Description: Very nice little piece of Canadian WW2 history worn w pride by a ww2 veteran! This pin is a WW2 Canadian General Service Lapel, it was first awarded for wear on March 29th 1940. This pin was worn but those who served for a minimum of 3 months during the war or for those who were Wounded in action and discharged! It was Canadas way of denoting who was a veteran! These were only awarded for WW2. This example is the 2nd pattern and is made out of sterling silver & has enamel inserts, this is the most pleasing version in my opinion! This one was awarded & is numbered 143,046. It is also marked 500 Dollar penalty for misuse( interesting to note this was an early form of what today we call stolen valor here in the US) Canadians took the wear and awarding of these pins very seriously! The condition is excellent it does exhibit some minor use and wear as one would expect, enamel is perfect no chips or issues! Overall an excellent pin worthy of your collection! Please check out my other militaria offering and collectibles! Thanks for looking! Just looking at the photos please note-- the enamel has no damage but the thicker enamel and tarnishing of the silver makes it look as though there is enamel damage! THERE is none! Just wanted to add
