Description: Original WW2 era "RESTRICTED" German map of POLAND entitled "SOLDAU" (DZIALDOWO) Printed in October 1937, it's headed "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map). The German invasion of POLAND took place less then two years later. At some point, either during or after, the War it came into the possession of the US Army Mapping Service who have added two official ink stamps. It seems to have then passed through British military channels (although there is no accompanying stamp) before eventually being removed from the official archive and donated to Edinburgh University - hence their own stamp in the margin. In excellent condition. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, photos, documents, kit etc. (Seller's Ref - U1268)
