Description: Original WW2 GERMAN map of WEST AFRICA entitled "ANSONGO" (MALI). It's headed "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" which equates to a "RESTRICTED" British military map. Printed in February 1942 The map covers a large area of (what was known at the time) as FRENCH WEST AFRICA. In great condition. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence ink stamping to margin. (Following both World Wars, the government distributed excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
