WW2 German Waffen-SS Letter/feldpost Lot

Description: Purchase includes entire lot pictured. This includes -289 hand written letters + 58 typed letters (letters only, covers have all been removed) from the same soldier to his mother/father spanning early 1940 through 1947 -62 pictures ranging from a handful of wartime photos to mostly postwar photos (1950’-1990’s). -82 misc postcards and letters from postwar to the early 1990’s This lot is an extremely unique piece of history. The hand written letters have not been translated. I have yet to identify the soldier in detail. I will list what I do know so far. -the soldier signs his name as “Kalli” -letters are all addressed to the soldiers father/mother as this appears to the letter lot of the parents. -Kalli served in the SS -Kalli references having been in the 12th company for over a year in a letter dated 5/1/1942 -Kalli claims phone number is Lublin 1940 in a letter dated 8/5/1942 -Kalli references an acquaintance with the 4th regiment in herzogenbusch holland with Ostuf. Gebhardt. -in late 1942 Kalli references working as an NCO on duty while in Lublin -in a letter dated 7/3/44 from Budapest, Kalli claims his Feldpost number is 26505. Later in 5/20/1945 he updates this to 25865 - first POW letters start in September 1945 As you can see there is still a lot of research to be done. From my own research I have ascertained that Kalli served in holland, Poland, Russia, and Berlin. The most letters come from Lublin 1942-1944. During this time he claims to be working K.L. Guard duty, patrol, drill ceremonies, NCO on duty, and an unspecified administration task related to a hospital. The letters I can read show lots of political commentary and knowledge of world news.
