Description: Original captured WW2 German Army road map of POLAND entitled "LYCK" (ELK) which also features BIALYSTOK, GRODNO, AUGUSTOW etc Originally printed in November 1942 and headed "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map). At some point during its service with the German Army, it was clearly captured by the Americans and passed to the 'Army Map Service' (AMS) who added an archive serial number. Then in October 1950 the US apparently handed it to the British 'Directorate of Military Survey', before it was finally given a 'CANCELLED' ink stamp in 1976. From there it passed to the archives of Edinburgh University (hence their own ink stamping to margin) who recently sold it off as part of a large collection. Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. PLEASE NOTE - Following BREXIT, items exported from the UK to EU countries now incur import tariffs.
