Description: Original WW2 THIRD REICH map of POLAND entitled "NIESWIEZ". Produced in September 1939 by Austria's military mapping services which were under the control of Germany following the country's 'Annexation' in 1938. In the course of just a few decades, NIESWIEZ had changed hands multiple times between Poland, USSR and Germany. It now forms part of modern day Belarus and is known as NIASVIZ. The map was clearly captured by the Allies, and found its way to the British 'Directorate of Military Survey', before it was finally removed from the official War Office archive with a 'CANCELLED' ink stamp. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence their own ink stamping to margin. (From time to time, the government distributes excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Has never been folded, so will be shipped rolled in a cardboard tube. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. International Shipping will be carried out by eBay's Global Shipping Programme, who set their own postage rates and do not routinely combine shipping. (This is calculated by eBay's automated systems and is completely beyond my control.) Seller's Ref - U1187
