Description: Bantam Reconnaissance Car This is a nice reproduction of an original World War Two photo showing a Bantam Reconnaissance Car, designated BRC-40, during US Army testing in 1941. American Bantam and Willys competed for the contract for the US Army, and the contract was awarded to American Bantam for the BRC-40. However, Bantam did not have the production facilities to produce the numbers the Army needed in a hurry, so the Army provided the Bantam blueprints to Willys and Ford, who submitted their own vehicles based off the Bantam's design. Willys and Ford went on to produce tens of thousands of Jeeps, and Bantam went out of business. Great photo! Size of photo is about 4" x 6". Click Here to Receive My E-mail Newsletters!!
