Description: I have for sale an antique 8 inch Lionel Corporation ships compass from 1944. It was made the same year the D-day invasion happened in World War two. It says 1944 on the rim of the compass. It is an estate find, so I can't confirm if it works completely, but it still spins when you move with it, and the dial is still very much legible. It is very heavy and made well as most things were back then, so it's highly likely that it functions as it's supposed to. There is some chipping in the paint, and you can see the brass underneath. There is some staining on the white part of the compass underneath the glass. There is some discoloration around the edge of the glass where the metal and glass meet. See pics. There is a serial number on the rim that is hard to make out, but I believe it is 13070. Thank you, and happy bidding.
