Shilling (1916-2002), a member of Claire Lee Chennault's legendary American Volunteer Group (AVG), better known as the Flying Tigers. He was among the first to arrive in Rangoon, Burma in August 1941, and was a flight leader in the 3rd Pursuit Squadron, called Hell's Angels. Shilling is often credited with creating the iconic Flying Tigers nose art- Octavo. This signed photo is a copy of an actual period photo.
