Pricing out an estate collection?71 55571 6 88 ___________________________________________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: 1 hard to find World War 2 PAL USMC red spacer Mark 2 fighting knife. This early War PAL USMC Mark 2 combat knife would make a rare addition to any collection. The USMC PAL is hard to find--mostly what you find is the US NAVY PAL on the market. This Mark 2 variation has a thick red spacer next to the guard. The blade is parkerized. The blade on this desirable Mark 2 measures 6 15/16". The knife is marked 'PAL' on the front tang. The reverse tang is stamped 'U.S.M.C.'. CONDITION: This knife is in excellent condition, and retains its original factory edge. The blade had some minor oxidation on it at one time. The handle is in excellent condition as well--well actually, perfect condition. The sheath is also in excellent condition. The pommel will rotate--this is normal. These early model Mark 2's had a circular weld that would often allow the pommel to spin once they were carried for a while. As the war went on improvements were made to the pommel weld--peening replaced the round pommel welds. ***International Customers: Shipping can seem high on certain items, because tracking and insurance (required for higher cost items) is expensive when shipping internationally.
