Description: YAMAHA CA-810 NATURAL SOUND INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER -Pots and switched all cleaned. -Meter lights replaced. -Meters are from a Yamaha CA-610 MK ll. The difference is the WATTS is the top scale instead of dB and there is a center scale on the 610 meters for a second meter setting which the 810 does not have. The meters have been calibrated for the 810, see the pictures with the 5.6K ohm resistors inline with the meter leads. (None of the meters in these Yamaha units were very high quality. These were calibrated with an 8 ohm dummy load, 30 watts at 1K. The meters roll off below and above that. Don't expect exact accuracy, these were to look cool ....and they do!) -While cleaning the balance control I noticed it had a flat spot on the right channel when turned about 3/4 of the way towards the right. I could not DeOxit it enough to get it to work properly. Even after taking the pot apart, I was unable to clean the windings enough to get the flat spot out. I opted to by-pass the balance control and install fixed resistors in place to keep the left and right centered while I searched for a replacement pot. That never happened. I don't use the balance control so never got around to replacing it! The 2 gold non-inductive, resistors in the picture are the balance by-pass resistors. -There are a few small nics, see the close up pictures.
