Description: Beautiful expressionist painting by Israeli artist Zamy Steynovitz (1951 - 2000). Born in Legnica, Poland, Steynovitz immigrated to Israel in 1957. This is a stunning, framed, oil on canvas painting measuring 20" x 24." It is one of two Steynovitz paintings that I am currently listing. I am listing this painting on behalf of its current owner, who has been in possession of it since purchased directly from the artist in New York City circa 1978 or '79. It has been on display in a smoke-free and humidity controlled environment ever since. The painting colors are clean and vibrant, with no discoloration or staining that I can see. It displays wonderfully. From the Zamy Steynovitz Wikipedia entry: "Zamy's art displays chromatic and thematic richness. His choice of subjects was strongly influenced by Jewish tradition and folklore, displaying general themes: Paris, still lifes, flowers, angels, circuses and landscapes. Zamy’s paintings are a reflection of his Eastern-European Jewish heritage, and they are enhanced by a rich choice of warm tones and colors. He evoked a universal humanistic idea in his creation; man’s connection to his heritage and physical surroundings." This painting will be packed with extra care and protection to insure that you will receive it without issue. It will be shipped fully insured. I reserve the right to cancel any transaction from eBay members with sparse or negative feedback. Please ask any specific questions prior to bidding. Please see my other listing for another Steynovitz painting of the same dimensions. It was originally purchased at the same time as this one. They display wonderfully together.
